Your form is embarrassing, I spent £600million – Todd Boehly blasts Chelsea players

American businessman and Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly lashed out at the players in the dressing room following a 2-1 defeat to Brighton over the weekend.

The Telegraph reports that Boehly described their form this season as “embarrassing”.

The Blues were outplayed by Brighton at Stamford Bridge in last Saturday’s game. It is the team’s third defeat on the bounce since club legend, Frank Lampard came in as caretaker manager.

A section of home fans expressed their feelings in the harshest terms by shouting down to Boehly in the directors’ box at the final whistle.

When the game ended, the business mogul decided to head to the dressing room to address the players along with co-owner Behdad Eghbali and Hansjorg Wyss.

After waiting for Lampard to finish his post-match speech, Boehly took centre stage and told the team their performances had been ’embarrassing’.

According to The Telegraph, he also reminded the footballers that he had spent £600 million to build a winning side and they had not lived up to expectations.
