UCL: I will not hide – Mbappe tells Barcelona that he’s ready

Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe has vowed not to hide when the club welcome Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final this week.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has lifted 13 trophies with PSG, including Ligue 1 on five occasions. However, Champions League success has so far eluded Mbappe.

Mbappe is expected to join Barça’s rivals Real Madrid in the summer, meaning this could be his last chance to win the competition with the French club.

“It is the time [of the season] for great players. I am ready and, as always, I am not going to hide. Every year, this period is a turning point in the season.

By the end of April, we will have an indication of the type of campaign we are likely to have,” Mbappé told Telefoot ahead of Wednesday’s game at the Parc des Princes.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has shut down rumours that he’s been getting juicy offers from clubs since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Nwabali, who keeps for Chippa United in South Africa, and became prominent due to his impressive performance at AFCON, stated that he is yet to receive any offers from other clubs.

Saudi Arabia Professional Football outfit, Al Ettifaq, and Sky Bet Championship club, Queens Park Rangers were reportedly interested in the goalie.

The 27-year-old, however, told FARPost during a chat that no other club has approached him or representatives over a transfer.

He said; “You see, to be honest, I’ve never seen anything on my table ever since AFCON. Maybe those clubs might have spoken to my team or my manager. But at this point, we can’t do anything.

And they can’t approach me because it would be unprofessional. They must go to my club or my manager. So I don’t know if there’s something on the table maybe waiting for towards summer or transfer window.

You know most clubs always do this. When they show interest, you’re opening the way to some other clubs. So, some people always keep it a secret, and when they get you, they get you once. For now, I know nothing.”
