NDLEA arrests man who allegedly sells hard drugs in wheelchair

A 45-year-old physically challenged man, Godwin Emuneyin, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for allegedly dealing in illicit substances in Edo state.

It was gathered that he uses his wheelchair as a cover to sell hard drugs such as methamphetamine and cannabis in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 7th of November 2023, at his base in Afuze following credible intelligence.

“As of the time of his arrest, a wooden box used to conceal illicit substances including 18 pinches of methamphetamine, one block and 71 wraps of cannabis, was recovered from him,” he added.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force and operatives of the NDLE recently engaged in a physical tussle over the arrest of a police Inspector’s wife allegedly caught with a bag of Cannabis Sativa and other illicit drugs.

The incident reportedly happened around 11am on Monday, October 16 inside A Division police station in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Sources disclosed that the wife of the police inspector was arrested while distributing the marijuana from her husband’s car, an ash Volkswagen parked inside the station.

However, when the NDLEA operatives moved to whisk her away with the vehicle, some police personnel challenged them and it led to a fight.

A source said; “A police Inspector’s wife was arrested by NDLEA yesterday inside A division in Kogi. Bags of cannabis sativa, an ash Volkswagen belonging to her husband were recovered. However, her husband’s police colleagues clashed with the NDLEA officers until their boss came in”.
