Man arrested for allegedly killing his 100-year-old mother in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has disclosed that its officers arrested a 63-year-old man, Lukman Adejoju for allegedly killing his 100-year-old mother.

It was gathered that the suspect assaulted and killed his mother, Aminat over palm oil sales in Kajola village, Apomu in Isokan local government area of the state.

Police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola said Adedoju and his mother were both going to the farm when the quarrel that led to her death started.

Opalola said the suspect confessed that he pushed the deceased and she fell and died. She said he has been transferred to the command’s headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital, for further investigation.

“They were both going to farm when they disagreed. The suspect said he could not explain the spirit that possessed him.

“He admitted that he pushed the deceased who should be about 100 years old, and the woman fell and died.

“He has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in the headquarters in Osogbo for further investigations,” the PPRO said.

The maid was said to have stabbed her female employer to death in her apartment on 29, Kiniun-ifa street Sawmill, in the Gbagada area of Lagos state.

The lifeless body of the deceased was discovered by her son on Saturday, March 9, 2024, when he came visiting. The help had worked for the woman for just seven days before the unfortunate incident occurred at the residence, where the boss is said to be the only occupant.

A resident said; “The woman’s son, upon arriving at the compound, went straight to his mother’s apartment, only to find her lifeless body on the staircase, with blood all over.

“A long piece of wood suspected to be the murder weapon was also found. By then, the body has started swelling, suggesting that the woman might have been killed days before”.
