Is Yahaya Bello really hiding from EFCC? – Rapper Ruggedman queries

Veteran Hip Hop artiste, Ruggedman has reacted to reports of ex-governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello evading arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).

The popular rapper took to his Twitter page on Friday and asked if Bello was truly hiding from the anti-corruption agency.

CorrectNG reported on Thursday, 18th of April, 2024 that the EFCC declared the former governor wanted after laying siege to his residence in Abuja.

The decision followed its inability to apprehend Bello after he failed to appear before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja on Thursday for his arraignment over alleged N84bn money laundering.

In a post on its official Facebook page on Thursday, EFCC urged Nigerians with useful information about the former governor’s whereabouts to report to nearest police station.

The anti-graft agency; “EFCC Declares Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Wanted. Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.

“Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station”.

Reacting to the development, Ruggedman wrote; “Wait. Is Yahaya Bello hiding from @officialEFCC for real?”

Recall that on Wednesday, April 17, a day before the planned arraignment, operatives of the EFCC, Department of State Services, Police and other security agencies besieged Bello’s Abuja residence.

It was later disclosed that Kogi state governor, Usman Ododo helped sneak Bello out of the building with the aide of his security details.
