Amotekun arrest security guard for allegedly stealing 9 ACs

The Osun state command of Amotekun Corps have arrested a 25-year-old security guard, Micheal Eze over alleged theft of nine air conditioners from his employer’s house.

The suspect, who is a native of Ebonyi State, worked as a private security guard at the Government Residential Area in Osogbo before he was arrested.

Commander of Amotekun in Osun, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, rtd, in a statement, revealed that Eze was apprehended around 7:30 am on Monday at the GRA Osogbo.

He said; “Eze was arrested for stealing air conditioners from the house where he was employed as a private security guard.

“The operatives swung into action after a complaint was made against the suspect for stealing the air-conditioners from the house where he works as a security guard.

“He was caught in the act after selling nine air conditioners worth four hundred thousand Naira each to Hausa scrap buyers at five thousand Naira each. Two air-conditioners were recovered from his buyers.

“Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to perpetrating the act and and revealed that this is not his first time of perpetrating the crime and selling the stolen items to his Hausa scrap customers.”

Amotekun disclosed that the suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services, DSS, for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
