I was a political thug but I rebranded and went to school – Graduate shares inspirational story

A Nigerian automotive electrician identified as Saidu Imran, has shared how he went from being a thug to becoming a graduate within 12 years.

He revealed that he was a political thug in 2011, but in 2012, he met a man who took him under his wing as an apprentice and that was how he learned to be an electrician.

According to the man, after working for two years he sponsored himself through the university between 2014 and 2022 when he bagged his bachelor’s degree.

Saidu, who is a member of the Obidient movement, further revealed that he sadly lost his son at birth in 2023, but the year also came with a positive which is that he won a ward for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party.

He wrote; “Here me out, in 2011 I was a political thug. In 2012, I met my Oga, interned and became an auto-electrician.

Btw 2014 and 2022 I self funded my Bsc, and my wedding. In 2023, I Lost my son at birth, secured an entire ward for Peter Obi and won it. Yeah, I am a stand up guy.”

A lawyer identified as Bolanle Cole narrated the story on microblogging platform, Twitter, and said the woman noted that she would not want to be in a marriage where there’s no love.

The wife also felt bad for her hubby because he is the one who handled her travel arrangements and also took care of her family .

A Point of Sale (POS) operator identified as Alfa Rafiu, has been arrested for allegedly spending N280 million which was mistakenly transferred to his bank account.

Kwara state Police command alleged that the suspect, who resides in Akuji compound, Abayawo area in Ilorin West LGA, received the sum in batches of several millions of Naira a few weeks ago and immediately started spending the money.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, in a statement, revealed that the Force CIID swung into action after getting intelligence.

He said; “His arrest was effected by the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) from Alagbon-Close, Ikoyi, Lagos which makes it out of our jurisdiction.”

According to eyewitnesses that spoke to Nigerian Tribune, Rafiu’s neighbours were shocked to see him suddenly start living a very comfortable and extravagant life.

A source claimed the suspect spent millions of naira buying houses, cars, and even sponsored people to the lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

“Instead of him to draw the attention of the bank that mistakenly transferred the huge fund to his account, he went on a speeding spree.

“Rafiu bought houses and cars and sponsored people to the lesser Hajj. Although he was generous to several people in the community, some residents were surprised about his sudden wealth as a POS operator,” the source said.
