Nigerian comedian and actor, Mr Macaroni rebuked a social media influencer for saying that he is the only Nigerian skit-maker that doesn’t do internet fraud commonly called yahoo yahoo.

He said that he knows a lot of hardworking content creators whom he holds in high esteem, so he cautioned the guy not to disrespect his colleagues who are working legitimately and diligently to make a living.

The man known as Provii stirred controversial debate on microblogging platform, Twitter regarding how skit-makers earn their money.

He claimed that Mr Macaroni, whose real name is Debo Adedayo, is the only entertainer that’s into skit-making in Nigeria who doesn’t engage in yahoo.

Provii shared a photo of the online comedian and wrote; “Among all the skit makers in Nigeria, na only Mr Macaroni no dey do yahoo”

In reaction Mr Macaroni suggested that such comments can discourage those new comers who are doing well skit-making even more than some of the old timers like himself.

He tweeted; “There are lots of content creators that I hold in high esteem, putting in hard-work diligently and legitimately. Please do not disrespect them this way.

There are also lots of new talents out there who wish to make a career out of Content Creation and some are well on that journey and have even started doing better than some of us. Please Let us do well not to discourage them.”

Social media users were divided on the matter as some agreed with Provii, while others argued against his assertion and gave reasons.
