Mixed reactions trail Rivers government demolition of State assembly complex (Video)
Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led government on Wednesday, began demolishing the House of Assembly in Moscow Road, Port Harcourt amid a political crisis rocking the state.
It was gathered that about 10 bulldozers drove into the premises of the state Assembly and started the demolition of the complex as part of a planned reconstruction.
Sources claim that as early as 5 am on Wednesday, over 10 bulldozers, excavators, and other heavy-duty machines were brought to the assembly complex.
The demolition commenced at about 7:30 a.m and it is being done under tight security.
This comes a few weeks after the hallowed chambers of the state assembly was burned down by unknown political thugs.
Also, the factional Speaker, Edison Ehie, led pro-Fubara lawmakers to the governor to hold a sitting early on Wednesday before the demolition began.
