Former UFC champion, Francis Ngannou has stated that despite judges split decision, he won the boxing match against British boxer, Tyson Fury.

He lost a controversial decision against Fury in the pair’s boxing match on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia, despite knocking down the WBC heavyweight title holder in Round 3.

Speaking about his boxing debt during a post-match interview with IU, the Cameroonian star said he knew that if the match comes to decision he was not going to win because it was his debut.

Francis Ngannou win Fury

Ngannou said, “If he [Fury] is being honest, he would say I won that fight. I won that fight, there’s no question about it.

“But before getting here, I know that if the fight get to decisions, I’m not winning not because I didn’t do good but because I’m a new guy in the house.”

One judge believed that Ngannou, who knocked Fury down heavily in the third round, had won the fight 95-94. A second had the exact same score in Fury’s favour while the third official’s card returned a 96-93 margin for the WBC world heavyweight champion.

Fury has been boxing for 25 years, since he first walked into a gym at the age of 10, and he sis a world heavyweight champion. However, Ngannou, had never boxed professionally before he climbed through the ropes.
