APC used me – Mr Jollof reflects on his political choice (Video)

Nigerian comedian, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has called out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), for “using and dumping” him.

The Instagram influencer stated this in a video making the rounds online as he talked about retracing his steps.

Mr Jollof said he was a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate in the 2023 presidential election, but decided to join the camp of the former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, after he came across a portion of the bible that talks about correcting one’s wrongs.

He made fun of Nigerians being affected by fuel price hike and said that they refused to listen to him when he warned the citizens to stop supporting APC after decamping but many didn’t take his advice seriously.

Mr Jollof said; “I dey support Tinubu from the beginning but when I see the Tigers wey dey with am and when I see the way say this people they are users. They used me. APC used me.

“But thank God, when I read the book of Luke 15:1-32, I know say the parable of the lost son na when you don commot from your papa house and you don fall short of his glory, you go go back to your papa. I now went back to [Ifeanyi] Okowa. Okowa hugged me and kissed me.

“And come back come tell una say this Tinubu walker, this world before una, I was. But una say I dey talk anyhow. But how far? Who dey buy fuel N617 now? E touch everybody.”

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the current challenges and hardship being faced are only temporary inconveniences which will pave the way for the prosperity of the nation.

Tinubu stated this in a heartfelt message while felicitating with Muslim faithful on the Islamic New Year.

The statement reads;

I send my heartfelt felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world as we witness the end of another Hijri lunar calendar. I pray the incoming Hijri Year 1445 usher in a more peaceful and prosperous period in our lives.

While celebrating the New Year, I implore you, fellow compatriots, to imbibe the important values of patience, perseverance and faithfulness, which were at the roots of the decision by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to migrate from Mecca to Madina, 1445 years ago.

As we persevere and struggle to confront our present challenges and the temporary pain we experience, I enjoin you to remain hopeful that there is light and prosperity at the end of the tunnel.

My team and I are leaving no stone unturned in our bid to deliver on the promises we made, in spite of the present difficulties.

As we usher in the New Islamic Year, I urge you all to engage in prayers and supplications to God Almighty to direct and protect our path to greatness and prosperity in Nigeria.
