A Kaduna state Chief Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 40-year-old man Michael Timothy, to two years imprisonment for N1.8million visa fraud.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, told the court that the convict was arrested for with collecting money under false pretence.
He said Tinubu fraudulently obtained the sum of N1.8 million from Cynthia Cole with the promise of securing a visa for her to travel to Canada.
According to the prosecutor, Timothy;s offence is in violation of Kaduna State Penal Code of 2017.
Insp. Leo called four witnesses during the trial who informed the court how the convict committed the crime on February 20.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the crime, and Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel sentenced him without the option of a fine.
Emmanuel noted that the sentence would be served consecutively and would act as a deterrence to others.
