Twin brothers arrested over alleged burglary, theft in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti state have arrested twin siblings, Olasoji Kehinde and Olasoji Taiwo, over alleged burglary and theft.

Spokesperson of the police command, DSP Sunday Abutu, in a statement claimed they attempted to break into shop at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti.

Abutu said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and further stated that they were responsible for the burgling of three shops in Fayemi Market at Agric Olope, Ado-Ekiti, where they carted away two bags of rice, two bags of beans and other valuables valued at N936,750.00.

The Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) also arrested one Afolayan Funke ‘and Nnaji Benignus Aroh, whom the suspects claimed have been receiving stolen properties from them.

A young man, Nura Mohammed, earlier confessed that he masterminded the theft of a new motorcycle in Adamawa state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said Nura, a commercial motorcyclist explained that he needed something to sell off in a bid to raise money for his wedding.

The Adamawa State indigene recounted how he and his accomplice, Muhammed Bello, lured their victim to the area where they took his motorcycle from him.

Nura who said he got involved in the theft out of love and to get money to marry a girl he had been going out with, pleaded with his girlfriend to exercise patience and to understand that he did it for their relationship. He asked the law for forgiveness, as it was the first time he would commit such a crime.
