AFCON: Go and dance to Amapiano – Ndidi, Mavididi trade words [Video]

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has gotten into a war of words with Congolese-born English winger, Stephy Mavididi have gotten into a war of words following Nigeria’s advancement to finals of AFCON.

Ndidi and Mavididi who are teammates, were bantering each other in the training facility at Leicester City after Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-final clash on Wednesday.

The Nigerian defensive midfielder, who was ruled out of the AFCON due to injury, reacted happily to his country’s victory.

Mavididi, who is originally from DR Congo but plays for England, said; “You know when they were recording all the teams coming on and all the teams you can see that they got something, but Nigeria nothing, no rhythm, embarrassing.”

In response, Ndidi told Mavididi; “We’re walking to the finals innit, you Congolese can dance. You can go and dance to Amapiano in the 3rd place. We are not here to dance, we are here to play football. Go and dance in the 3rd place with Amapiano boys”.

Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface has reacted to Nigeria’s win over South Africa in the semi-final tie on Wednesday night.

Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalities to advance to the final at the Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON), in Ivory Coast.

Goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali was the hero of the match as he saved two penalty kicks, earning the three time AFCON champions a win.

Boniface, who could not participate in the 2023 AFCON due to a hamstringinjury, stated that in light of the victory, it will be difficult getting a South African visa at this point.

The 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star who commented via Twitter, also said that being a Nigerian is a thing of pride and the country is ‘sweet’

He wrote; “To be NIGERIAN…You no no Wetinx God do for you. This country so sweet. To get South Africa VIsa go hard die now”.
