The Kano State Hisbah Board reveals that it has arrested two men for allegedly engaging in same sex marriage, which is a sin.

Hisbah Commandant, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, who made this known on Saturday, said the suspects were trying to arrange same-sex marriage.

He referenced a viral video which showed the two young men identified as Khalifa and Abubakar and said they were kissing each other during an event, which is suspected to be their engagement party.

The suspects, however, denied the allegation that the event was a wedding ceremony, and said it was just a birthday party.

Khalifa explained that he organised the party for his birthday and his friend Abubakar used his mouth to gave him a piece cake in his own mouth, stressing that it was not a kiss. Daurawa said the two suspects are in their custody and an investigation is ongoing.
