Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, has revealed that he recently turned down a $5 million offer to perform in Dubai.
He explained that he rejected the deal because he would not have been allowed to smoke his favourite substance (weed) in the United Arab Emirates.
Burna Boy stated this in a video making the rounds on social media during a freestyle rehearsal with his band, Outsiders.
Emirati law prohibits smoking in parks, beaches and all public recreational areas in Dubai.
“Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollars na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where dem no go gree allow me smoke igbo… Shey na till dem tell you,” he sang.

Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, has revealed some principles that guide his personal life despite now being a celebrity.
The ‘Who’s Your Guy’ hit-maker said one lifestyle he continues to practice is that he does not smoke, drink or carry women like a casanova.
He made this known during a recent chat with media executive, Chude Jideonwo, where he stated that does not have any other bad habit.
Spyro said: “Even till date, I do not smoke, I don’t drink, and I don’t carry women and all that or any other sort of bad habits.”
The interviewer asked if he “carries woman,” since he said he does not womanise – referring to the male gender.
In response, the singer said; “I no be gay now,” which prompted laughter from both of them.
