EFCC not joking, avoid them – Cubana Chief Priest cautions Nigerians amid naira abuse trial

Famous businessman and nightlife boss, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has advised Nigerians to ensure they steer clear of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Chief Priest dished the advice via his Instagram page amid reports that he and the EFCC have agreed to settle the alleged naira abuse case out of court.

According to the club owner, Nigerians won’t like the kind of stress the anti-graft commisison put suspects through during trial.

He wrote: “Court day, problem no good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better stay away from their wahala, I’m sure you will not love to pass through this Kinda stress I’m passing through.”

Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos state fixed June 5 for a report of settlement in the case against Cubana Chief Priest, over alleged abuse of the naira.

The out-of-court settlement was disclosed when the proceedings resumed on Thursday, 2nd of May 2024.

He was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts bordering on abuse of naira, spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The socialite revealed that when he was arrested, operatives of the anti-graft agency don’t manhandle suspects in custody. He claimed that the agency only investigate and prosecute.

Furthermore, Chief Priest warned that the commission would always catch those who run away from invites or resist arrest regardless of where they hide.

He stated this via his Instagram page as he praised the hospitality of the agency, one of which included serving him three-square meals in their cell.

Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “The Eagle will always fly so high to catch you wherever you hide. No need to run when @officialefcc invites you, just pull up and answer them, they don’t bite, they don’t beat, they only investigate and prosecute. For their cell, toilet & bathroom dey, even breakfast, lunch & dinner is served so tell me why are you running.”
