Equipment For Production:

THE WASH LINE

The wash line is a vital piece of equipment which is the first point of contact in the juice production process. What happens here is that the raw fruit ingredients go down a wash line where the fruit gets cleaned, to remove traces of dirt, particles, pesticides, and prepare them for processing. Once this is done, a conveyor belt system carries them into a grinder.

GRINDING EQUIPMENT

As the name entails, this is used to grind the raw fruits for the extraction process. After the raw ingredients pass through the grinder, it is moved to the extraction equipment.

PUMPS

There are different types and sizes of pumps but the most common ones are; progressive cavity and lobe pumps. Progressive cavity is better at dealing with products that contain large particles. Lobe pumps are better suited for juices with high acidity and low abrasiveness.

PASTEURIZERS

Pasteurizing is the process of killing potentially harmful microorganisms, so that the juice is safe for consumption. Though there are some main equipment which must be in your factory, there are also smaller tools used to process fruit juices

I. Fruit washer: There are two types, namely; fruit surfing washing machine and brush spray washing machine. It is meant for the selection of fruits and vegetables, like carrots which are hard to clean.

II. Fruit elevator: This is is usually placed between fruit sorter and washer or after the fruit sorter.

III. Fruit crusher: For the purpose of crushing fruits and vegetable. The types are hammer crusher and squirrel-cage crusher.

IV. Preheat machine: This helps to soften raw fruits, eliminate enzyme, and protect color.

V. Fruit pulping machine: In cases where you need to pulp kernel fruits and extract juice from fruits such as mango, strawberry, raspberry, apricot, tomato, peach and kiwi fruit, this is the equipment for that.

VI. Aseptic filling machine: What this helps to accomplish in the production of fruit juice is the process of opening cover, canning, metering and sealing.

Production Steps:

The fruit juice production process starts with the pretreatment of raw fruit material and after which you do the extraction, clarification, and filtration.

When done with the first stage, the production process continues with homogenization, deoxidation, concentration, and ingredient adjustments.

The final stage of production is packaging and sterilization, so it can be shipped out to stores for consumers to purchase.
