AC Milan conclude Chukwueze deal

AC Milan are expected to announce the signing of Nigerian international, Samuel Chukwueze next week after reaching an agreement with La Liga side Villarreal.

According to Gazzetta, the Italian giants have agreed to pay a total package of €28m for Chukwueze, made up of €20m upfront and €8m in bonuses. He has one year left on his contract with Villarreal.

The 24-year-old is expected to sign a four-year deal with the Italians valid until the end of the 2026/27 season. Chukwueze had already agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri.

The Super Eagles striker had been dropped by the Yellow Submarine for their friendly against German side Hannover on Saturday despite no reports of injuries. Early reports suggests he will undergo his medicals on Monday.

AC Milan manager, Stephano Pioli, has revealed to Chukwueze about the project he is building in Milan, especially with young talents such as Rafael Leao and the recent acquisition of Noah Okafor. Chukwueze is said to be Pioli’s top target for the right-wing position.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet on Saturday confirmed that the deal is expected to be completed next week and the players announced it to the public.

“Samuel Chukwueze was not even called up for Villarreal friendly game vs Hannover. He’s on the verge of joining AC Milan as the deal will be completed next week,” the Italian football journalist tweeted.

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is on the list of players Chelsea is considering giving a deal, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano. He has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to Romano, the English club is exploring the possibility but no final decision has been made yet. Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also interested in the striker.

“They are exploring very different options for example they like Victor Osimhen and they had some conversations also with Atalanta on Rasmus Højlund to be informed of the conditions of the deal. They’re exploring many options but they have not made any decisions yet,” Romano said.

The 24-year-old scored 26 goals last season, making him the top scorer in Serie A. The Nigerian International also scored five goals in six appearances for the Partenopei in the UEFA Champions League.
