A young man identified as Oluwajuwonlo Afolabi has celebrated his recent success in the academic world after experiencing setbacks earlier in life.

He took to LinkedIn to announce that he bagged a first class B.A (Ed) Communication and Language Arts degree from the University of Ibadan.

Afolabi recounted how he went through difficulty in the past, particularly how he lacked the financial means to purchase a JAMB form, adding that if not for three personalities he tagged ‘three wonderful persons’ he may not have been where he is today.

He wrote;

”After 8 semesters of a 4-year program, the University of Ibadan has awarded me a B.A (Ed) degree in Communication and Language Arts with FIRST CLASS HONOURS.

This conferment which comes with graduating atop in a class of 198 students signifies excellence and the fulfillment of the promise of God.

I am reminded of 2015 when I had no money to obtain a JAMB form. But, as God would have it, I was assisted financially by three people I codenamed “three wonderful persons”.

I acknowledged their support at that crucial time in my final thesis which was a foundation of the success to come.

I sincerely appreciate Prof. Clement Olusegun Kolawole for his academic support and mentorship. My appreciation goes to Dr. Maxwell Araromi for his all-time support during my study and project. I appreciate Dr. N. Ohia for his grooming and assistance during my study.

I am grateful to my parents, siblings, relatives, and friends who supported me all through the full-time program.

I see this as a wonderful beginning and look up to telling a story of greatness as I forge ahead.

I hope this inspires you to give all you do the very best.”
