Wizkid stirs emotions as he subtly condemns presidential election in music video

International Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid has subtly tapped into the sentiments of Nigerians who are displeased with the outcome of the 2023 general election.

The presidential, national assembly and governorship election was alleged to have been characterised with large-scale rigging, voter intimidation, and other electoral malpractices.

Wizkid released the visuals for Money & Love on Wednesday, off his More Love, Less Ego album, on March 29th and it was noticed that he used a scene to address the concerns raised during and after the election.

The music star’s video contained a fictional newspaper which displayed the bold heading “Frustration, credibility, doubts as election results trickle days after”.

The video got fans talking about the singer’s seemingly smart usage of art to address societal issues that keep Nigerians endlessly worried.

“Money & Love. Out worldwide!!” Wizkid captioned his post.

People were however divided in their opinions as some said he was commenting too late, while others commended him for sending a strong message without necessarily releasing a statement.
