Why I will never manage Arsenal – Chelsea manager, Pochettino

Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that there are two clubs he will never manage when he leaves The Blues.

According to BBC Sport, Pochettino said he will never manage English Premier League club, Arsenal or La Liga team, Barcelona.

The Argentine tactician explained that he will avoid Arsenal because they are considered the worst against Tottenham Hotspur. He stated this ahead of his return to Tottenham with Chelsea on Monday.

He was linked to the Gunners job four years ago after Unai Emery was sacked. Pochettino was Spurs’ head coach for five years and was sacked in 2019, before taking the Chelsea job this summer.

“I always said that the only clubs I would never manage are Arsenal – they are considered the worst enemy for Tottenham – and Barcelona, because of Espanyol,” he said.

One of the clubs the 51-year-old managed before moving to Chelsea was Espanyol in Spain.

Ex-Atletico Madrid star, Paulo Futre, has claimed that Joao Felix was offered to Manchester United and Manchester City before his summer move to Barcelona.

Futre, however said that both Premier League clubs rejected the chance to sign Felix before the September 1 transfer deadline.

He told Cadena SER; “When Joao said he dreamed of playing for Barça I began to live a nightmare that lasts to this day. I called him [Jorge Mendes, Felix’s agent] and told him that the statements that Joao had made were his doing and he said no.

“We argued on the phone and he told me that he had spoken to Manchester United. I verified what he told me because I have friends and it was true. Later he had spoken with Manchester City, I also checked and they didn’t want Joao either.

“What is not normal is that phenomenal coaches knew that Joao was a genius, he entered their game system, but nobody wanted him. Neither Arteta, nor Guardiola, nor Klopp, any club… My question is why?”
