Seasoned Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has revealed why she waited till she was in her 40s before getting married.
The 48-year-old movie star and her husband, Fidelis Anosike tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in November 2022 when she was 46 years old.
Speaking during a recent interview with Joy FM, Dominic said she wanted to be sure that she was marrying for the right reasons and not due to societal pressure.
She admitted that she was under pressure to settle down but she did not allow people to influence her decision, being that vowed to herself to marry the man of her dreams.
The actress further disclosed that before she met her husband, she dated a few men but the relationships didn’t work out and she did not want to force anything.
Rita Dominic said; “I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for the reasons that stems from societal pressure. Even before I got married, the pressure was there for years, but I just turned deaf ears.
Like I always said I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man society dreams for me, because if anything goes wrong tomorrow, I will be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society. So I will do it when I want to do it at the right time, and I believe I did it at the right time, with the right person.”
