A 50 years old man identified as Ahmed Echodo has been arrested and arraigned at a magistrate court in Abuja by the Nigerian police force for giving false information that misled the police to raid the house of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

It was gathered that security operatives stormed the house belonging to Ike Ekweremadu on Friday following information provided by Mr. Ahmed Echodo and one other accused who is yet to be apprehended, accusing the occupants of criminal offenses and found nothing incriminating after ransacking the house.

Mr. Ahmed Echodo and the second accused, Maiwada Adamu, were said to have informed the office of the IGP that the house which is occupied by Oliver Ogeniyi is used for criminal activities and for the storage of arms and ammunition.

The magistrate, Mr. Umar Kagarko, who has adjourned the ruling for a bail application on the accused till 5th June, has asked the police to search for the second accused and present him in court before the next sitting.
