We reported earlier that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC have suspended the nationwide strike scheduled to begin today, Monday, September 28, 2020 over increase in electricity tariff and petrol pump price.
After hours of deliberation, the federal government and labour unions reached an agreement over the planned strike.
Minister of state for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo said the new agreement involves the suspension of the new electricity tariff hike for two weeks.
Nigerians have now taken to social media to react to the suspension of the planned strike. Many Nigerians believe that the FG has bribed NLC and TUC while few others believe it is a good step.
