We’ll shut down South-East if governors refuse to release Kanu – Simon Ekpa

Factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has vowed to shut down the South-East for two weeks if governors from the region refuse to secure the release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The pro-Biafra agitator issued the warning on the heels of President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to obey a court of competent jurisdiction that ordered the unconditional release of Kanu.

Ekpa, in a statement on Tuesday via his Twitter handle said the secessionist leader’s whereabouts have remained unclear, thereby raising serious concerns.

He said; “Biafran territory may go on two weeks lockdown if the Nigerian Government’s eastern region governors refuse to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or give an update on his whereabouts.

“This has become imperative as nobody knows the whereabouts of MNK after he was discharged. After two weeks of lockdown and nothing, we will activate the next strategy that has never been observed”.

CorrectNG recalls that Kanu was arrested and extradited to Nigeria in 2021. His trial on treasonable charges recommenced and since then he’s been in detention.

Meanwhile, Senior Pastor, Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja, Joshua Iginla, in his prophetic insights for 2023 revealed that Kanu will be released.

Iginla’s prophecies cut across socio-political issues, and God’s mind regarding IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, forthcoming general elections, among others.

The prophet warned the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), against being over-confident ahead of the upcoming elections.

He also said that Kanu needs to pray for his health before and after he regains freedom.

Iginla said: “The ruling party should not be over courageous because I see a fight of two lions and a tiger, especially in the gubernatorial elections of some states. There will be a win and gain here and a loss there…

“Nnamdi Kanu will be released, but he has to pray for his health. He has to pray even after his release, indeed the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. He must fight to stay alive and think about his health.”
