Viral schoolgirl who stays in class to study during break reveals she lost her parents (Video)

A primary school girl, Boluwatife Semilore, who went viral last month because she stays back in class to read during break has revealed that she is an orphan.

CorrectNG reported earlier that her class teacher shared a video showing the pupil reading her books in an empty class when her peers went out to play.

The teacher, who was impressed by her actions decided to record her and disclosed that Boluwatife does the same thing everyday.

“This one girl in my class that stays back in class during break to study,” the caption.

In a fresh video, the little girl was interviewed when her classmates went out and she opened up about losing her dad and mum.

The tutor asked her if everything was okay and the child said she is fine but her body language and facial expression seemed to tell a different story.

A prayer was said by the concerned class teacher who felt that God needed to intervene in the girl’s life.

In other news, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state says his government has built 2000 houses for teachers across the state.

He made this known during the opening ceremony of a two-day NUJ delegates conference in Kano, adding that it is intended to make the teaching profession attractive.

Ganduje said more than 2,000 houses had been completed, out of which about 750 would be inaugurated in the Kano metropolis by President Muhammadu Buhari during his planned visit to the state.

The governor, however said the houses were not free of charge but that the Kano government would provide the enabling environment, through the banks, for the teachers to acquire them.

He also told the gathering that the retirement age of teachers in the state had been increased the retirement from 60 to 65 years to enhance the quality of the teaching profession.

The Kano State government had first announced plans to construct a total of 2,000 housing units in 2016.
