Video: Wike arrives National Assembly for ministerial screening

Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Monday, arrived at the National Assembly for his ministerial screening.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain who is among President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees, arrived at the National Assembly complex in the company of his wife, Eberechi Wike and some supporters.

The Nigerian Senate is expected to commence the screening of the the first set of Tinubu’s ministerial nominees today.

A video making the rounds on social media shows Wike and his wife being driven into the National Assembly premises in a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon.

In the just concluded 2023 presidential election, Wike had turned against PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and allegedly worked for Tinubu.

Meanwhile in other news…

President Bola Tinubu released his list of nominees for ministerial positions last week and it was read on the floor by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio during plenary.

He nominated former governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike as his ministers.

Chief of Staff to the President and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila presented the president’s ministerial list before the Senate on Thursday.

Some of the nominees include; former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Ex-Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi; former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El Rufai; and presidential spokesman, Dele Alake.
