Big Brother Naija winner, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna has revealed that she once dated an internet fraudster (Yahoo boy).

She made the revelation while being interviewed on Frankly Speaking podcast with OAP Nedu Wazobia and the gang.

Phyna was asked if she would honestly be comfortable with being in a relationship and not getting money or gifts from her boyfriend who is not wealthy.

She noted that she has been struggling for most parts of her life even while she had boyfriend,s so it will not be a new experience for her.

The BBNaija star further recounted how she dated a Yahoo boy who happens to be the person she dated for the longest time.

According to the Edo-born brand influencer, the guy never gave her money for once throughout the time they were together.

Phyna then generalised and said that majority of guys who engage in internet fraud do not give their girlfriends money.

She said the ladies choose to stay with them for aesthetics, just to have the title of being a Yahoo boy’s girlfriend and to be by his side when he’s lavishing money in clubs and at events

The reality star’s revelation comes at a time that a relationship therapist known as John Doe wrote off ladies who have ever been in a relationship with a Yahoo Boy.

In a post on microblogging site, Twitter, he said any girl who knowingly dated a fraudster is not suitable to be taken as a wife.

According to John, she can easily cheat on whoever she gets married to because she does not know the value of money.

He wrote; “A man that makes his money through illegitimate means, is likely to spend carelessly on a woman he’s dating. Any lady that has once dated a fraudster, and she was aware, is not suitable for marriage. She doesn’t know the value of money & she’ll cheat on you at anytime. End.”
