Big Brother Naija 2019 contestant, Natacha ‘Tacha’ Akide, has spoken up against the suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria.
Recall that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration ordered the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria over what it described as ‘persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.’
Tacha expressed her fear that those in power might also push for a ban on the other popular social media apps and ultimately, the entire internet.
The reality TV star raised the alarm through the Insta-story section of her official Instagram account.
She wrote; ”They are coming for Tiktok, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, club house.
Infact the entire internet, so let’s keep praying.
They don’t get that the bigger picture is the fact that people will no longer have the freedom of expression.
They do not understand how serious this is.”
