Popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh has dumped African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), The Nation reports.
The politician ran as the 2023 deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Rivers State gubernatorial election.
According to the publication, Tonto Dikeh will be officially unveiled by the APC National Women Leader, Mary Alile, on Monday, October 23, 2023 by 3 pm at the national secretariat in Abuja.

Nigerian musician, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, professionally known as Iyanya, has revealed that he received threats after his ex-girlfriend, Yvonne Nelson alleged that he cheated on her.
It may be recalled that the Ghanaian actress wrote in her newly released Memoir, “I AM Not Yvonne Nelson” that the reason their relationship crashed was because the artiste was seeing Nollywood star, Tonto Dikeh behind her back.
Speaking on how the revelation affected him in a recent interview with GHOne TV, the ‘Kukere’ crooner revealed that he lost 10,000 Ghanaian followers on Twitter on the day the report first made headlines.
The winner of Project Fame West Africa noted that he doesn’t like bringing up the flaws of his ex, but he just had to talk about the matter from his angle.
He said; “When Yvonne said I broke her heart, I was in my room and I just saw a post, ‘Iyanya cheated on me.’ I remember that day, I was looking at my Twitter, I lost almost 10,000 Ghanaian followers. And I was getting threats and all of that.”
Iyanya also clarified that the tweet he made, saying he was going to tell his side of the story on what led to their breakup was just a momentary outburst.
