Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa, has announced the release date for her highly anticipated debut movie titled ‘Water And Garri.’
The ‘Koroba’ crooner took to her social media pages on April 4 and confirmed that the film will be released on May 10, 2024, via global streaming giant, Prime Video.
Sharing a promotional flier on her page, Tiwa wrote: “My beautiful people, our movie @waterandgarrifilm has a date. See you May 10th @primevideo.”
Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported in January 2024 that the songstress joined the Nigerian movie industry both as an actress and producer.
The mother of one said her debut movie ‘Water and Garri’ was inspired by her latest album with the same title, and it has as the lead actor.
She shared a picture of herself from a scene in the movie, which has been in the works for two years, and said she is excited about the project. The award-winning musician explained that ‘Water and Garri’ will be released via Prime Video and shown in over 240 countries around the world.
Tiwa wrote: “Guys, I’m so excited to announce that my first feature film #WaterAndGarri will be released this year through @primevideo and shown in over 240 countries and territories worldwide!
“This has been over two years in the making and I must say this is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I’ve done. I feel blessed and honoured to not only be making my debut as a lead actor but to have also executively produced this film.
