President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the suspension of Abdulrasheed Bawa as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).
This was announced on Wednesday, 14th of June 2023, noting that Bawa was suspended indefinitely to allow for proper investigation into allegations of abuse of office.
This comes few days after the suspension and arrest of Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Bawa has been directed to immediately hand over to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the EFCC pending the conclusion of the investigation.
