Tinubu appoints ex-presidential candidate, Fela Durotoye, others as media aides

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, approved the appointment of five new media aides to serve in the Office of the President under the Media and Publicity Directorate.

Notable among the new members of the presidential advisory team is Fela Durotoye, former presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria party (ANN) in the 2019 election.

Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale announced the new appointments via a statement on October 9.

The list is as follows;

Fela Durotoye is appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President — National Values & Social Justice.

This was disclosed in a release by the A statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, enumerated the new appointees as follows:

Mr Fela Durotoye (Senior Special Assistant to the President — National Values & Social Justice)

Mr Fredrick Nwabufo (Senior Special Assistant to the President — Public Engagement)

Mrs Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe (Senior Special Assistant to the President — Strategic Communications)

Mr Aliyu Audu (Special Assistant to the President — Public Affairs)

Mr Francis Adah Abah (Personal Assistant to the President — Special Duties)

President Tinubu also approved the secondment of Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

According to the statement, he tasked all new appointees who are serving in the Media and Publicity Directorate to uphold the highest standards of decorum and decency in their engagements with all members of the public as they advance the President’s determined bid to renew the hope of Nigerians in a restructured economy and unified society that caters sufficiently to the needs of all.
