“This is dehumanizing”’ – Mr Macaroni berates Davido for allowing his aide to slap fans (Video)
Nigerian skit-maker and activist, Debo Adedayo, whose stage name is Mr Macaroni, has criticised music star, Davido after his aide assaulted two fans.
Davido was spotted at the lobby of a building stepping out with his team when two male fans tried at different points in time to take selfies with the singer.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the DMW boss’ aide, Lati slapped the overzealous fans as they rushed towards the Grammy nominee for selfies.
Lati first gave a hot slap to a fan for coming closer to Davido while being swarmed by a crowd, and moments later, he punched another fan for taking pictures with the entertainer.
Reacting to the viral clip, Mr Macaroni condemned the act by OBO’s aide and described the incident as dehumanizing.
The actor said that the positive change in society Nigerians are yearning for must first start with each and everyone of us as individuals.
He wrote; “This is sad and highly condemnable. There’s absolutely no need for this assault. This is dehumanizing and I speak against it because I know how this feels. The change we all seek must begin with us.
“Please, if you must take pictures with your favorite celebrities, kindly seek permission to avoid being seen as a threat. Respect is reciprocal. We must respect the privacy of our celebrities and celebrities must also learn to treat our fans with respect and dignity.”
