“Thank you for your consistency” – Mr Macaroni tells Burna Boy following Grammy performance

Nigerian comedian and actor, Mr Macaroni has celebrated Grammy winning singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy over his impressive performance at the 66th annual Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy was among the international acts who graced the stage to thrill attendees at the prestigious event which held in the Crypto.com Arena.

Reacting to a video of the self acclaimed African Giant performing, Macaroni thanked the singer for being consistent and making his nation proud.

He wrote; “Beautiful Performance from Odogwu himself!! Thank you Burna Boy for your consistency and for making us proud!!!”

CorrectNG reports that despite bagging four nominations, Burna did not win any award just like his Nigerian colleagues, Davido, Ayra Starr and Asake.

South African pop singer, Tyla Laura Seethal, professionally known as Tyla won her first Grammy Award at the 66th edition on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old makes history as the first-ever winner of the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys.

Tyla’s ‘Water’ defeated songs by Nigerian singers: Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ to clinch the award.

Meanwhile, Davido’s ‘Timeless’ and Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ also lost the Best Global Music Album award to Shakti’s ‘This Moment.’

In the same vein, Davido’s ‘Feel’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Alone’ lost the Best Global Music Performance to ‘Pashto’ by Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Zakir Hussain. This means no Nigerian won an award at the 66th Grammys.
