Tekno, Runtown paved the way for us to go global – Ckay says

Popular singer, Chukwuka EKweani, aka Ckay, has stirred a debate online after he talked about the influence of music stars, Runtown and Tekno on Nigerian music.

He said the music released by the duo paved the way for artistes like him, Oxlade and Rema to do their type of Afrobeats internationally.

Ckay believes this was something many people knew but were aware of but afraid to talk about, hence why he feels there’s a need to do so someday.

The Love Nwantiti crooner took to his Twitter page on Friday, 16th of June 2023, to make the statement.

He wrote; ”One day we’re going to sit down and talk about how tekno and runtown’s music paved the way for songs like love nwantiti, emiliana, ku lo sa & calm down…”
