The magistrate, Ajuma Igama, issued the remand order on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, and declined to take the plea of the suspect for want in the jurisdiction, saying that he should be kept in a correctional centre, pending legal advice.
The judge also asked the police to return the case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and adjourned the case until February 25, for further mention.
The police had earlier told the court that the accused committed the offence on December 24, 2020, Vanguard reports.
