Supreme Court should be courageous and free Kanu today – Sowore appeals as hearing begins

As the Supreme Court prepares to hear the appeal of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, former Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, (AAC), Omoyole Sowore has called on the apex Court of Nigeria to be courageous enough to set the IPOB leader free today.

Kanu is appealing his continuous detention in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

On November 3, 2022, he filed an appeal at the Supreme Court against the Court of Appeal’s ruling on 28 October 2022 which stayed the execution of its earlier order acquitting him of all charges and directing his release from the custody.

Speaking ahead of the hearing today, Thursday, April 27, Sowore asked the Supreme Court to summon courage and let Nnamdi Kanu go.

The activist said it should bring an end to the impunity and lawlessness of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration

He tweeted; “#FreeNnamdiKanuNow. The Supreme Court of Nigeria must demonstrate courage today and stop the impunity of the lawless, inhuman and illegitimate Muhammadu Buhari flouting of court rulings.

“Let Mazi Nnamdi Kanu go! #Revolutionnow”.
