Speed Darlington claims Nigerian artistes touring U.S. are sponsored by fraudsters (Video)

US-based Nigerian musician, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington has alleged that his counterparts who go on tours in US are often booked by scammers.

He excluded himself from the list as he said that any artiste who flies from Nigeria to hold a concert is being sponsored with illegitimate money.

Speed Darlington made the allegation ina video posted online, as he explained that no Nigerian working abroad would stand for 12 hours at a concert because most of them are in healthcare and they are too busy.

He said the population of Nigerians in US is not plenty enough to make a musician have a sold out music show in the country.

According to him, if one carries out investigation it will be discovered that most Nigerian music acts are being paid by scammers to hold shows abroad.

CorrectNG recalls that Ghanaian media personality, Marcoli trolled Nigerian Afrobeats maestro, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun also known as Wizkid.

He took to his Twitter page and mocked Wizkid, saying the artiste was unable to sell out the tickets for his show at the 40,000-capacity Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

Marcoli juxtaposed his show at Madison Square Garden which was totally sold out with the Accra concert that he claims could barely make complete sales.

The show which is holding today, December 10th was organised by Live Hub Entertainment in conjunction with Starboy Entertainment, Rave and Finali Group Entertainment.

According to the Ghanaian TV anchor, he had always doubted the reports of Big Wiz selling out concerts with ease.

He tweeted; ”Wizkid sells O2Arena in seconds but can’t sellout Accra Sports Stadium in a Month?😂 I said it.”

Wizzy’s concert in Ghana came weeks after his music show at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands in November 24, 2022.

Organiser of the show in Accra Sports Stadium, Live Hub Entertainment said in a statement that it will be the first of many of its kind.

The statement read; “The Wizkid show in Accra is only the beginning of an epic series of high-quality live events across Africa powered by Live Hub Entertainment.

We want to be inclusive of all areas of Ghanaian society and have a youth focussed social impact element to all our programmes.”

Wizkid had also earlier confirmed the show by posting the promotional video on Twitter with the caption; “Ghana!! Dec 10 #WizkidLiveAccra ⁦@thelivehub_”
