I know very well that most of us know the names of virtually all the celebrities we have in this country. 7. Ademola Adedoyin
Ademola Adedoyin is a movie star known for his roles in blockbusters; October 1 and King of Boys. But do you know that he is the son of a famous industrialist named Samuel Adedoyin, the CEO of Doyin Group of Companies.
Ademola Adedoyin was born in Lagos, he is the 10th of 14 children.
Ademola Adedoyin read graphic design and English literature at A-Levels at St Bede’s School in Hailsham, East Sussex, UK. He has an M.Sc in Media and Communication from Metropolitan University Of London and also studied Film directing at Central Film School, London.
6. Naeto C
Naetochukwu Chikwe, a Nigerian rapper, popularly known as Naeto C is the son of Kema Chikwe, a former Nigerian minister of aviation.
After finishing his secondary education in Lagos, he moved to the United States for higher education both in SUNY Old Westbury and a year later, George Washington University. It was at this time that he met Uzikwendu and Ikechukwu, who was then an aspiring hip-hop artist out of Washington Heights, New York. The trio went on to form the World Famous Akademy, a brotherhood of musicians. They planned to grow into an independent record label but could not get their hands on the proper funds. Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz is the son of a notable Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana. Falz himself is a lawyer but has made a name for himself as a musician.
Falz was born on October 27, 1990 in Lagos State. He began his career while in secondary school after forming a group called “The School Boys” with his friend before his professional career as a music artist began in 2009.
Falz became more well-known after his song “Marry Me” won him a nomination in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated in the “Best Rap Act of The Year” and “Best New Act to Watch” categories.
4. DJ Cuppy
Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy is the daughter of a Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, who is the chairman of Forte Oil.
DJ Cuppy was born on November 11, 1992. She lived in Ilupeju for six years before moving to Ikeja. She then moved to London for her GCSE’s and A-Levels. Cuppy graduated from King’s College London in July 2014, with a degree in Business and Economics. She earned a Master’s Degree in Music Business from New York University in 2015
Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as L.A.X is a singer and producer. He is the son of Nigerian billionaire industrialist, Taiwo Afolabi who is the founder of SIFAX Group, a company that deals in oil and gas.
L.A.X was born on April 10, 1993 in Lagos. He started out as a rapper and was part of a three-man group called Flyboiz while he was still in high school. On August 20, 2013, he signed a major-label deal with Starboy Entertainment moments after releasing the critically acclaimed song titled “Caro” which won him the “Diaspora Artiste of The Year” at the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
2. B Red
Adebayo Adeleke also known as B Red is a Nigerian singer who is the son of a politician, Ademola Adeleke, who recently contested for the Osun state governorship election. Note, B Red is the cousin of top Nigerian singer, Davido.
B-Red was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and relocated to Nigeria to pursue his music as a career. He started his musical career in 2013 with the release of “Insane Girl” featuring Davido and produced by Shizzi.
This list would not be complete without the worthy mention of the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ called David Adeleke AKA Davido. He is the son of renowned business mogul, Adedeji Adeleke. He has gone on to become one of the biggest artistes in Nigeria even though his father initially frowned at him for abandoning school to become an entertainer.
Davido was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and relocated to Lagos at a young age. His debut album Omo Baba Olowo was released in 2012; it produced seven singles: “Back When” featuring Naeto C, “Dami Duro”, “All of You”, “Overseas” featuring Sina Rambo, “Ekuro”, “Gbon Gbon” and “Feel Alright” featuring Ice Prince. Between 2013 and 2015, Davido released the singles “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)” featuring Mafikizolo, “Naughty” featuring DJ Arafat, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money” featuring Olamide. The aforementioned singles were reportedly intended to be singles off the album, The Baddest.
