Social media hashtags are not enough, we must be fearless and protest on the streets – Falz

Popular Nigerian musician cum actor, Folarin Falana also known as Falz has called on citizens to deeply consider mass peaceful protests as a call to action to demand Nigeria’s leaders brace up to their responsibilities.

He spoke in reaction to the recent spate of rape and killings in Nigeria especially in the cases of UNIBEN student, Uwa Omozuwa and Tina Ezekwe.

16-year-old Tina Ezekwe was shot and killed by a policeman at a bus stop near her home.

Uwa Omozuwa, a 22-year-old student of the University of Benin was raped on 29th May near Ikpoba Hill in Benin City, at her church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)

Falz reacting to the developments, said that sitting at home to trend hashtags is not enough and people must rize up to challenge the government through protests.

“It is important that we are fearless and we are ready to challenge the government through peaceful protests. It’s not enough to sit in our houses and post on socials. Justice must be served #JusticeForUwa #JusticeForTina”he wrote.
