Single mother of two stages protest with her young children at Governor Ayade’s office over alleged non-payment of 2 years salary

A single mother on Monday, staged a peaceful protest with her underage children at the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade’s office over alleged non-payment of 2 years salary.

Magistrate Safiya Iyeh Ashipu of the Chief Magistrate Court Odukpani, claimed that she has not been paid for two years and pleaded with the Cross River State government to pay her salary.

The mother and her two sons carried placards with various inscriptions that read;

“Our Excellency, I am a single mother of two, I have not been paid for two years, lease pay me my two years salary.

“Your Excellency, My Governor, you have the power to help and change our lives for the better. Please pay our mother and your Excellency, my governor please help me to complete my treatment and please pay my mother her two years salaries.”

It was learnt that Ashipu is one of the 29 Magistrates that governor Ayade has not paid for over two years.
