American singer-songwriter, Selena Gomez, has revealed that she intends to adopt children if she is still single at 35.
The 31-year-old Grammy winner said she conceived the plan after five years of being single, before she finally entered a relationship with producer, Benny Blanco, last year.
Selena Gomez spoke to Time Magazine about how she initially struggled with loneliness, and what helped her feel better about not being in a relationship.
She said; “I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”

CorrectNG recall that last year, Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy reacted angrily to the advice from social media commentator, Daniel Regha for him to consider adoption.
Regha said it was okay for the 40-year-old Mavin boss not to marry but insisted that he should consider adopting at least a child that would carry on his legacy.
The Twitter Influencer took to the microblogging platform and noted that being a father should be Don Jazzy’s top priority right now.
He wrote; “Don Jazzy not being married isn’t an issue, not everyone fancy marriage. But he should adopt a kid, at least, someone who can preserve & carry on his legacy long after he’s gone. Being a dad ought to be among his top priorities right now, adopting is always an option. No offense.”
Don Baba J evidently irritated by his advice, described Daniel as a nuisance and offered to adopt him instead of looking for kids.
“Let me adopt you Daniel since you lack a father figure in your life. A proper nuisance,” Jazzy wrote on Twitter.
