Sanwo-Olu appoints London-to-Lagos solo traveler, Pelumi Nubi as tourism ambassador
Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed UK-based Nigerian content creator, Pelumi Nubi as the state Tourism Ambassador.
The 28-year-old travel enthusiast, successfully drove from London, UK to Lagos Nigeria all by herself, and her incredible journey began on January 30th.
The young lady who arrived Lagos on Sunday was received at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on behalf of Lagos State Government by the state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and the Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe.
Nubi’s appointment was announced by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, via his official Twitter page on Monday.
In addition to the ambassadorial role, Pelumi Nubi was presented with a brand-new car and a luxurious house in Lagos. The government also handed her a customized license plate number.
He wrote; “Welcome, Pelumi Nubi #peluminubi_, Our Brand New Lagos Ambassador, She gets a brand New car from Governor #jidesanwoolu, A new home in Lagos, a customised plate number and one more thing, she is donating her vehicle (the one she used for the trip) to our brand new J Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History as monumental gift to Lagos State.”
Expressing gratitude, Pelumi wrote; “Just another great start and a new beginning. Congratulations to me guys as I become a Lagos state ambassador. Alongside a new car gift from His Excellence. A new home in Lagos and also a customized plate number. God is Good.”
