CorrectNG reported earlier this year that Rema made it to former United States President, Barack Obama’s favourite music playlist for the year 2022.

Two other Nigerians, Burna Boy and Ayra Starr also made the music list which Obama shared via his verified Twitter page on December 23, 2022.

The ex-president said Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ and Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ are some of his favourite songs of the year.

He also asked followers to recommend songs and artistes that he should checkout asides from the 25 songs he listed from different artistes across the world.

Obama wrote; “I always enjoy sharing my end of year music playlist with all of you — and this year we heard a lot of great songs. Here are some of my favorites. Are there any songs or artists I should check out?”

Reacting, Rema thanked Obama for seeing him as someone worth listening to just like in 2019. The ‘Ginger Me’ crooner said he felt the same way he felt in 2019 when his name also made the list.

He wrote; ”I feel the same way I did in 2019 when I saw my Name on this list, I’m very grateful. 🙏🏾❤️”
