It was Day 2 of the festival holding at Dix Park in Raleigh, and the sound issue frustrated Rema so much that he advocated for the same sound quality for African artistes as their Western counterparts on international stages.

The 23-year-old artiste said; “Hold on, there are too many sound issues. It’s messing up my whole performance. I’m seriously not feeling this sh*t.

“I’m representing Africa, this is too messed up. If the sound cannot be perfect for every artiste that get on this stage… Africa is in the house and you are messing sh*t up?”

CorrectNG recalls that in 2023, the Afrobeats sensation, Rema, stormed off the stage during his performance at a music event in Atlanta, USA.

A video which went viral on the internet showed when the ‘Bounce’ crooner abruptly ending his show and walking off the stage in anger.

Rema expressed his displeasure with the venue management’s unsatisfactory set up of the event. He had only performed two songs after getting on stage before he decided to leave midway.

The singer was unhappy about the heat inside the venue and he blamed the show organisers, saying that they had shown disrespect not just towards him but also towards Afrobeats as a genre.

He, however, addressed the attendees before leaving the stage and apologised to his fans after which he promised to reschedule his show in Atlanta.
