Rema urges senior colleagues to caution their fans against causing beef

Young Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema, has called on musicians to stop their fans from instigating them against the younger artistes.

This is also as he urged the rising entertainers to respect the OGs and prevail on their supporters to do same.

The Mavin Records signee said he has respect for everyone in the industry and would love if they also respected him.

He stated this in an interview about while talking about his relationship with Davido, noting that rumours of a beef between them are untrue.

Rema referred to Davido as an OG, and said it doesn’t sit well with him whenever his fans go online and attempt to create enmity between him and an OG.

He said: “I have so much respect for the OGs in the game and I don’t like my fans comparing & trying to put me against them.

“The peace among Afrobeats artistes is one of the reasons why the genre is where it is today.

“I always caution my fans when I see them comparing me to my Big Bros and I expect every artiste to do same when they see their fans trying to spark up problematic conversations”.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that Rema said it is difficult for celebs like him to find a woman who will genuinely love them.

He stated that he is not certain if girls of this generation would be willing to stay with him if there was any problem.

Rema, who spoke during an interview on Beat 99.9FM, said he does not know if the girls showing interest in him at the moment are just doing it to fulfil some kind of fantasy.

The Calm Down crooner further said that relationship these days is complicated and he does not know if he will find true love.

He also expressed concerns about the role of the internet in ruining the way relationships used to be and how everyone is now talking about making money and focusing on self-development, ambition and career.
