Reactions as Obasanjo is seen wearing Tinubu’s signature cap

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has caused a stir after being caught on tape wearing a cap branded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s insignia.

Obasanjo attended an event attended alongside some African dignitaries and he could be seen with the ‘Tinubu cap’ on while being ushered into the hall.

This came as a big surprise to Nigerians because the ex-president declared support for Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

Reacting, former presidential aide Reno Omokri wrote: “Former President Obasanjo wears Tinubu branded cap. I thought he was supporting Peter Obi. Interesting realignment.”

@justkency; Asiwaju, the greatest Nigeria politician and soon to be the greatest Nigerian president. His achievements will dwaft Obasanjo’s achievements

@Emeritus2451096; Well, the signature doesn’t belong to PBAT (Better said adopted) it’s been in existent for centuries used within some certain people In Yoruba land. It’s an Esoteric concept.

@HRMajibadeseun; They have all rushed to their whatsapp group to look for what to call the same obasanjo they’ve been praising all these while. Say a prayer for the ibos around you because they’re all going through another, and a lot is going through them.

@UKAAAA30; Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a true patriot and statesman, stands tall as a champion of Nigeria’s progress! His unwavering commitment to the nation’s growth and development shines brighter than party affiliations or personal interests. He embodies the spirit of selfless leadership, working tirelessly for a better Nigeria, regardless of who sits in the presidency. His dedication inspires us all to strive for a united and prosperous nation. May his legacy continue to inspire generations to come!”

@seunnigeria; Peter Obi was a pawn in the hands of Yoruba politicians. They used him to divide Atiku votes to pave way for Tinubu. The guy thought he was smart. How can he win… Pito Obi was used and it was too late for him to realized it

@IgeIshola1; He is a retired Soldier — he was supporting PO so that PDP votes 🗳️ will go to PO but will not match that of APC. He’s supporting Tinubu indirectly, he is only against Abiola, but he is using military tactics to against Atiku in support of Peter Obi in vavour of Tinubu ..

@itumasunny2496; They didn’t remember Tinubu had a meeting with OBJ before the election. If you want to understand politics follow Tinubu. That cho cho cho Peter Obi does all over the place is not politics. That pretentious, deceptive, chameleonic politics Obi does won’t take him anywhere.
