Psquare has attained legendary status – Peter Okoye replies political critics

Popular Nigerian Afropop singer, Peter Okoye has boasted that PSquare, the music group he founded with his twin brother, Paul, has become iconic and legendary.

He stated this while replying those bashing him over his political leanings going into the 2023 presidential election.

Peter also known as Mr P, has publicly announced that he is supporting the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.

However, his choice did not sit well with some fans who criticised him for urging them to vote the former Governor of Anambra state.

Taking to his Twitter page, Mr P asked critics to stop crying, adding that no matter what they say, Psquare had become Iconic and was longer seeking a career.

He wrote: “Stop crying.. We are Global! At this point we will be the one to decide when to retire! We sold out over 70 city World Tour with old songs! Be ready to cry more when our New album drops this summer!.

We no longer have a career! We are Iconic and legendary! OG’s before the IG.”

Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported in December that Peter said entertainers are like goats that music lovers use while celebrating Christmas.

According to him, musicians and other performing acts hardly spend time with their family during the festive period because they are always fully booked for shows and events.

Mr P made the statement during the premiere of actress, Funke Akindele’s ‘Battle on Buka Street,’ an anticipated comedy-drama movie.

When questioned about how he usually spends the festive period and what he intends to do this year, the singer said he would not be traveling with his family because this is a money-making period for entertainers.

Peter said; “We (entertainers) are the goats used in celebrating Christmas. We go to concerts and shows and don’t have time to celebrate Christmas. Do you want me to tell you that I am going to travel with my family? No now, it is a money-making period.”
